SV Holstein Kiel will remember this Saturday, May 11, 2024. If the club resident of Bundesliga 2 (German D2) came up against Fortuna Düsseldorf (1-1), the point of the draw was enough to ensure the rise in the elite of German football, for the first time in its history.

In front of 15,000 supporters at the Holstein Stadion, coach Marcel Lapp and his men celebrated the milestone of the club founded in 1900, becoming the 58th team from across the Rhine to reach the top tier of German football. The club announced the news on X, ironically calling it “the most beautiful draw in the world”.
