Kathie Lee Gifford may be single and ready to mingle.
Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager insinuated the “Today” show alum and her boyfriend, Richard Spitz, have broken up.
The “Today with Hoda & Jenna” co-hosts were discussing who could potentially star on the inaugural season of “The Golden Bachelorette” during Monday’s episode of their NBC show when they teased that they “already figured it out.”
“Kathie Lee Gifford!” Kotb, 59, and Bush Hager, 42, exclaimed at the same time while their crew members clapped.
Kotb gushed that her former co-host, 70, “would be perfect” on the ABC reality dating series featuring men and women older than 60 trying to find love.
Pop culture guru and “E! News” host Justin Sylvester seemed hesitant and joked that there is “not enough chardonnay in the world to get Kathie Lee there,” but Kotb –– who has known Gifford for nearly two decades –– disagreed.
“Oh, you never know! She might! By the way, she would be a 10 plus, and she’d get her choice of all the men, and you know how she is all flirty and cute,” Kotb said.
Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager suggested Gifford should star on “The Golden Bachelorette” because “she’d get her choice of all the men.” HodaAndJenna/NBC Kotb and Bush Hager didn’t discuss Gifford’s most recent relationship with Spitz. kathielgifford/InstagramBush Hager agreed Gifford would be “great” but clarified that their casting theory is “unconfirmed.”
“Well, that’s because we’re starting to speak things into existence,” Kotb quipped.
Both co-hosts then doubled down that Gifford “would be fantastic.”

Sylvester, meanwhile, chimed in to say Kotb and Bush Hager could even join Gifford on “The Golden Bachelorette” for a few guest appearances, but Kotb noted NBC may not want them on a rival network.
“They won’t let us on ABC, but Kathie would be great,” she reiterated.
Gifford has kept a fairly low profile life since leaving “Today with Kathie Lee and Hoda” and moving to Tennessee in 2019, but Kotb recently shared that her pal is “living her best life.”
The former TV host has kept her relationship with Spitz out of the spotlight. kathielgifford/InstagramThe former TV host has also kept quiet about her romance with Spitz and never publicly referred to him as her boyfriend.
Gifford did, however, talk about being in a “really special relationship” with a “nice and fun and healthy” man while visiting her old stomping grounds in April 2021, though she did not reveal his name.
“To be in a place where you feel like every aspect of your life is good, that nothing’s missing, that’s a beautiful place to be. I’m just so grateful,” she said on “Today” at the time.
“I’ve discovered that by not talking about it, it stays special,” Gifford once said. kathielgifford/InstagramGifford continued to play coy on the identity of her mystery man a year later when she raved to People about “someone very special” in her life.
