Hoda Kotb’s daughter Hope is “thriving” one year after her hospitalization.
The journalist shared in a new interview that she has “already [been] seeing great differences” in the 5-year-old’s condition since her February 2023 health scare.
“She is improving, we’re watching her, and I think that as time goes on, we’ll have a better handle on it,” she explained to People in her cover story published Wednesday.

Kotb, who has yet to divulge Hope’s diagnosis, noted, “I feel like she is finding steady footing.”
The longtime NBC personality also gushed over her recent move with Hope and daughter Haley, 7, from Manhattan’s Upper West Side to Westchester, where the girls can be “barefoot and on grass.”

Kotb and her family relocated in August, one month before she revealed on the “Today” show that she will be leaving the network next year after nearly three decades.
At the time, the former “Dateline” correspondent credited her children and her mom, Sameha Kotb, with inspiring the change.
“[They] need and deserve a bigger slice of my time pie,” she wrote in an emotional letter to her colleagues.

She said, “I’ve kind of been contemplating, wondering, thinking about what I wanted this next chunk of my life to look like as I turned 60. And I like adventure.
“I knew that I wanted this decade to be different,” the “Making Space” podcast host continued. “I looked at my time like a pie … and I wanted it to be filled with more of them.”
