Hoffenheim in the Europa League, Heidenheim in the Conference League

With Bayer Leverkusen’s victory in the German Cup this Saturday evening against Kaiserslautern (1-0), two German teams were delighted with this outcome. Seventh in the championship, Hoffenheim thus obtains qualification for the group stage of the 2024-2025 Europa League. A return to Europe which was already assured for the TSG which did not yet know in which competition it would play.

On the other hand, it is a historic day for Heidenheim. Promoted to the German elite and eighth in the Bundesliga, the team from the south of the country was the nice surprise of the season. Thanks to its ranking and Bayer Leverkusen’s double, Heidenheim will have the joy of participating in the European Cup for the first time in its history and finds itself in the Europa Conference League.
