Holi is known as the Festival of Colours. It joyfully marks the arrival of spring and the celebration of love. This festival brings people together through vibrant festivities, music, and shared sweets, fostering a sense of unity. On the occasion, Anshuman Malhotra and Delnaaz Irani send their best wishes for Holi and share their fond memories.
When asked to describe himself in a color, Himanshu Malhotra picked pink, explaining, “Pink is a combination of red and white—red represents the passion within me, and white symbolizes the sukoon (peace) I carry. Together, they blend into pink, which I find both divine and graceful.” This beautiful interpretation reflects his balanced approach to life, blending energy and tranquility in equal measure.
For Himanshu, Holi is a festival of togetherness. He enjoys playing with both gulal and water and believes in celebrating without discrimination. “As long as everyone is having a great time, it doesn’t matter whether it’s dry Holi or water Holi. The essence of the festival remains the same,” he shares. However, he notes that the trend of using water balloons has significantly reduced over the years. Reminiscing about his childhood, he says, “Back in school and college, we used to have so much fun with water balloons. But over time, people might have gotten hurt, leading to efforts to stop their use.”
Himanshu Malhotra’s Fondest Holi Memories
One of his fondest Holi memories dates back to his early years in Mumbai, during Zee Cinestars Ki Khoj. “We all lived close to each other, and Holi was all about hopping from one building to another, dancing, and playing with gulal. It was a time of pure joy,” he recalls. He also fondly remembers the grand Holi celebrations from his television days with Balaji Telefilms, making the festival even more special.
As for his Holi essentials, Himanshu ensures proper skin and hair protection. “I always apply oil on my hair and skin, along with a good moisturizer,” he reveals. His favorite Holi indulgence? Gujiya! And when it comes to festive attire, he prefers wearing old clothes, though he admits, “White looks stunning on Holi because it gets beautifully colored, but black is a safe choice too.”
Delnaaz Irani Opens Up On Her Holi Plans
Delnaaz Irani talks about her Holi plans. She said, “I don’t play Holi now, but I truly love the concept of the festival—the happiness, the laughter, and the joy of friends and family coming together. It’s a day when we take a break from our busy lives to celebrate, reconnect, and create beautiful memories.”
She added, “The colors, the music, and the festive energy bring a sense of togetherness that is rare in our daily hustle. Watching people enjoy, share love, and spread positivity makes Holi special for me, even if I choose to stay away from the colors. The spirit of Holi, for me, lies in the bonds we cherish and the moments of pure joy we share.”
