Home Alone actor Devin Ratray was supposed to begin his domestic violence trial this week — but it was delayed due to a “critical” health emergency!
According to a family member who spoke with TMZ on Monday, the actor (who played Buzz McCallister in the famous franchise) was hospitalized “in critical condition” for an unclear issue. The good news is he’s already been released from a NYC hospital and is now back home resting, per the doctor’s orders.
According to his defense attorney, Scott Adams, via The Blast, he suffered heart issues and was in the ICU. It’s unclear when he was first admitted to the hospital. Because of this health scare, the 47-year-old’s domestic violence trial was delayed. On Monday, jury selection in an Oklahoma courtroom was supposed to begin, but now the pretrial is slated to start next month.

As Perezcious readers may recall, several years ago, the R.I.P.D. alum was arrested for allegedly punching and strangling his girlfriend.
The incident, which occurred in December 2021, happened after Devin allegedly got super drunk on a night out, an affidavit obtained by KFOR revealed at the time. After downing a bottle of wine and over a dozen shots, per reports, two fans approached the Christmas movie icon for an autograph, which he freaked out about. To calm the situation, his girlfriend gave the fans two signed autograph cards for free and then went back to their hotel room.
Devin followed soon after, and when he got into the room, he allegedly pushed her onto the bed while holding her mouth shut with one hand and pressing down on her throat with the other. While choking her, he allegedly said:
“This is how you die.”
Jeez…
The actor also reportedly pushed her into a desk and punched her face causing several injuries. He was arrested that same month for two charges of domestic assault and battery and posted a $25K bail, authorities told Fox News at the time. In February 2022, he pleaded not guilty — proving this trial is obviously long overdue considering that was already two years ago!
We hope he gets better quickly! A heart issue and the stress of a big trial like this definitely isn’t a good combo from a medical perspective. Damn.
