During the June 30 episode, Matt Smith’s Daemon Targaryen visits Harrenhal to gain support from House Strong for his wife, Rhaenyra Targaryen’s claim for the throne.

While there, he has some nighttime visions, one of which from his wife. However, the vision was not of his present day wife, portrayed by Emma D’Arcy, but by the younger version of his wife, portrayed in season one by Milly Alcock. It was thought that Milly would not appear in season two, as she only played the character’s younger version.

Ryan told EW about making the cameo happen, “It was very easy in terms of will. We were excited about the prospect. Milly was eager to come back and everybody was excited to have her back.”

About filming around her busy schedule, he shared, “She’s very busy, so it was a tricky thing to navigate around the schedule, but we essentially had her in for a couple of days right at the start of production. I think one of our greatest feats was keeping that a secret all the way through, given the fact that it happened right at the beginning.”
