Popular stand-up comedian and on-air personality, Steve Onu popularly known as Yaw has taken to social media to express concern over the high cost of living in the country.
TheNewsGuru.com reports that Yaw via his verified Instagram on Wednesday night lamented the cost of food prices after buying a tuber of yam for over five thousand in the market.
The media personality further quizzed on how people with low source of income are coping in these times, after which queried the lawmakers for changing the National anthem to old anthem yet unable to do same for the rising cost of food prices in the market
“How do people that earn 30k cope?‘’ he asked..
Continuing, he said, “Fellow Nigerians where i go fit see food cheaper, because see one paint of garri way i buy four thousand naira. See plantian way i buy 6000k,meanwhile, food way i dey buy 7/8k now na 19k, i bin wan buy tuber of yam, they todld me 5k, see the cucumber i bought, 400h for one.
“Abeg before you find me come, make sure you eat in your house before coming, i dont have food. Chop before you come my house. no more coming here to et. now they said they want to change the national anthem, cant they carry the food prices to go back to the old prices? Na national anthem dey them important to change. Nigeria we hail thee.”
