Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi popularly known as Tems has revealed how a serious illness delayed the release of her forthcoming debut album, ‘Born in the wild.’
The Grammy winner during an interview with the New York Times said that her album was scheduled for release in 2021 but got postponed due to an undisclosed illness.
Tems revealed that she underwent surgery and six months of recovery, after which she released her second extended play,EP, ‘If Orange Was a Place’ instead.
She said;
“Being a warrior is about not giving up. Even if they cut your leg, you walk on your knees, you fight on your knees using what you have — and that’s good enough.”
