Winner of FC Nantes on the Beaujoire pitch (2-0), Paris Saint-Germain completed a perfect week. The Rouge et Bleu took advantage of OL’s victory over Nice to distance themselves from their first pursuer in the standings by fourteen points. Suffice to say that the matter is over in terms of the title, even if we cannot count on Luis Enrique to let his men become demotivated with 12 days to go. “No way ! It is true that we will perhaps lack motivation because there is no direct opponent to push us but that is our merit, it is due to our performances. We must use the Championship to improve the way we play and continue to win.”

Three days earlier, the Ile-de-France residents also performed well in the Champions League. Kylian Mbappé’s partners suffered, but they managed to win 2-0 against Real Sociedad in their round of 16 first leg. Enough to approach the return match with serenity. However, a bombshell was dropped this week. Before the C1 shock, Mbappé announced to Nasser Al-Khelaïfi that he was going to leave PSG. The Bondynois did the same a few days later with his teammates.

No sanction against Mbappé

The latter therefore approached PSG’s last matches with some great news to take in. Seeing Mbappé leave is not a surprise in itself since the red and blue number 7 had indicated last summer that he would not extend his contract. But the announcement made this week by all the French media marks a blow. Asked about how the Parisian group experienced this week full of emotions with the announcement of Mbappé’s departure, Danilo Pereira tried to put on a good face. “Normal. It’s normal for the team and him too. It’s not my place to talk about that.”. What would disturb the group? “No, I do not think so”.

The fact remains that this resounding announcement was followed by a few facts which did not go unnoticed. For the first time this season, the group of players selected for this Saturday’s match was not communicated to PSG followers. “Simple internal communication problem”we confided internally to The Team. Then it was the choice to install Mbappé on the bench. But here again, PSG had to put out the start of a fire. “It’s a choice from Luis Enrique, no decision from management regarding his choice to leave. There are no instructions given, the coach is independent in his choices. Everyone wants the adventure to end in the best possible way.. To be continued…
