Former Blues captain Hugo Lloris doesn’t seem to be too excited by the prospect of playing in the Paris Olympics.
Like Antoine Griezmann, Raphael Varane or Kylian Mbappé, Hugo Lloris was announced as a potential reinforcement for the France Espoirs team during the Paris Olympics. But, the idea in question does not necessarily excite the former Spurs goalkeeper.
The Olympics, not in Lloris’ plans
Guest of the Shock Team this Wednesday, the man with 145 caps made it known that competing in the Olympics was not “not his priority”. “We have efficient goalkeepers with Lucas Chevalier and Guillaume Restes. But, if players are not released by their clubs and there is a need to replace them then we can always think about it, but I do not believe that it is in the interest of the team (that he is selected , editor’s note). And then, with me, you will be bored the day before the match (laughs).”

While affirming that he is not thinking about this tournament at all, Lloris still indicated that “it’s a competition that I (he) follows closely.” “It takes place in France, so it’s important. Now the rules are different,” he added. Speaking of rules, he refers to the fact that any selection has the right to strengthen with three players over 23 years old.
Recently transferred to Los Angeles FC, Lloris is especially looking forward to discovering his new club and taking on a new challenge in his career. “I always wanted, deep down, to discover a new continent. And I can afford to discover this experience today, after 19 years as a professional. Detach myself from Europe. I had several opportunities, but the United States in sports represents a lot. And MLS is a championship that evolves a lot. And there is the family aspect, with a beautiful living environment.”
