Now a right-back for Aris Salonika in Greece since this summer, Hugo Mallo (33 years old) is slowly ending his career after an experience in Brazil at SC Internacional. The former Celta de Vigo player, however, had some bad news since he was found guilty of sexual abuse following acts committed on April 24, 2019 during the match between Espanyol de Barcelona and Celta de Vigo.
In fact, he allegedly touched the breast of Periquita, the mascot of Espanyol who is a parakeet. By passing his hand under the costume, he thus committed a touching on the employee of the Catalan club who is a woman. The latter filed a complaint and Sport announces that the player was sentenced to a fine of 6,000 euros, or 10 euros per day for 20 months, and compensation of 1,000 euros plus interest for moral damages. The minimum sentence of 18 months was not decided, because the accused did not repent.
