Hull City are set to sack manager Tim Walter after just six months in charge, talkSPORT understands.
A 2-0 defeat at home to Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday evening looks to have sealed Walter's fate.
Walter's time at Hull is upCredit: GettyWalter is expected to depart having won just three of his 18 games in charge across the Championship and EFL Cup.
The German's imminent exit comes a day after Hull owner Acun Ilicali said Walter would remain in his post whatever the result against Sheffield Wednesday.
"He will be in the job," Ilicali told the BBC before the 2-0 defeat. "If we lose tonight, he's going to be in the job."
The Tigers have already started sounding out potential replacements after a dismal season which has left them in the Championship relegation zone.
German Walter was only appointed in the summer after the controversial decision to sack Liam Rosenior having narrowly missed out on a play-off place last season.
