Hunter Biden Found Guilty on All 3 Charges in Gun Trial, Potential Prison Time & Fine Revealed

Hunter Biden has been found guilty on all three counts in his criminal trial today (June 11) in Wilmington, Del.

The 54-year-old son of President Joe Biden was found guilty of making a false statement in connection with the sale of a firearm, making a false statement in a firearms transaction, and possessing a firearm while being a drug user or drug addict, NBC News reports. The charges stem back from 2018 when Hunter was using drugs.

Jurors began deliberating on Monday (June 10) and deliberated for about three hours. First Lady Jill Biden entered the courtroom after the decision was announced, and Hunter’s wife, Melissa Cohen Biden, was there as well.

As for potential punishment for the crime, CNN reports he could get up to 25 years in prison and be forced to pay a fine of up to $750,000. However, they note that since he’s a first time offender, he will likely not receive a maximum sentence. At the time of the crimes, Hunter was only in possession of the single firearm for 11 days, which might also factor into a possible lower sentence.

He was indicted on these charges back in September.
