Hütter disrespects Louis-II and his supporters!

AS Monaco supporters may be angry with Adi Hütter for his latest statements…

Adi Hütter, the coach of AS Monaco, is not going to improve his popularity with his statement on the sidelines of the match between AS Monaco and Le Havre. The Austrian, whose players could only draw at home (1-1) against the Normans, does not seem to be a very big fan of the Stade Louis-II, or at least of the slightly too quiet atmosphere that traditionally reigns there.

“We like playing at home, but we also like playing at our opponents’ because there are more spectators”, launched Hütter at the microphone of Prime Video. If he then indicated that he appreciated the ASM supporters, the message is quite clear. It is frustrating for him to play in a stadium which is not among the most full each day and, what is more, is the third smallest in Ligue 1 in terms of capacity. Only the Stade Gabriel-Montpied (12,381 seats) in Clermont and the Stade Francis-Le Blé (15,150 seats) in Brest can accommodate fewer people in Ligue 1. The avenue des Castellans enclosure has a maximum capacity of 16,500 places.

He had never experienced this before

At Young Boys Bern (31,000 places), Eintracht Frankfurt (58,000 places) or even Monchengladbach (54,000 places), the last three teams he was in charge of, Adi Hütter was used to warm atmospheres and packed stadiums. When he joined AS Monaco, the 53-year-old technician perhaps did not expect such a difference in terms of fervor and presence. Some will say that he was not, however, obliged to make these remarks, which could very well be taken as a lack of respect by the faithful of the Rock.

Perhaps it is also simply cold realism. After 10 days of Ligue 1, during the last point made by Sportune, the Principality club was dead last in terms of average attendance with just over 9,000 spectators per match.

Despite a season with checkered results, the Monegasques remain in the top 5 and within reach of the qualification zone for the next Champions League. They are, at this time, tied on points with Brest, fourth in the standings.
