Hyde Energy, one of the leading providers of innovative energy solutions in Nigeria, has commended the impact of mechanics on the economy.

The company, in a statement, said it had partnered with the Nigerian Automobile Technicians Association and the Motor Mechanics and Technicians Association, Lagos State Chapter, to endorse a mechanic-oriented initiative as part of its #MyMechanicMyHero initiative.

“This partnership is part of Hyde’s broader commitment to impacting the automotive industry in Nigeria,” the firm said.

It explained that the initiative aimed to impact the automotive industry and recognise mechanics for their efforts in ensuring the movement of goods and passengers across the country.

Hyde Energy recalled that it recently concluded the Hyde Cup #MechanicsChampionsLeague, a six-week football tournament extravaganza that brought together mechanics from 140 mechanic villages across Lagos State.

Over N5m worth of products were distributed among the winning team, runners-up, and standout players, serving as a foundation for building stronger relationships with mechanics and enhancing their technical capabilities.

Backed by endorsements from NATA and MOMTA in Lagos State, and in furtherance of the initiative, Hyde Energy disclosed that it had extended its partnership with mechanics across the state to celebrate their contributions to the automobile industry.

The Chief Executive of Hyde Energy, Oladimeji Edwards, noted, “Mechanics are the heartbeat of Nigeria’s automotive industry, and their expertise and dedication are essential for keeping our economy moving. The ongoing initiative is about celebrating the unsung heroes of the automotive industry, the mechanics who keep our engines running and our communities moving.

“We are incredibly proud of the positive impact it has on the mechanic community, and we want to thank the members of the Nigerian Automobile Technicians Association, Lagos State, for their unwavering support.”

Reacting, the Chairman of NATA in Lagos State, Comrade Moruf Egberongbe, lauded the initiative.

“As our slogan says—’No’NATA, No Movement’—we are the backbone of the Nigerian economy, as we play a crucial role in keeping vehicles on the road and supporting the mobility of our nation. We are proud to endorse Hyde Energy’s lubricants, which not only empower our members with the right tools for their work but also enhance the quality of service we deliver to car owners across Nigeria.

“This initiative is a testament to Hyde Energy’s commitment to uplifting the automotive sector and ensuring mechanics are equipped for success. We are incredibly grateful to Hyde Energy for their vision and commitment to elevating the status of mechanics in Nigeria.”

Hyde Energy stated that through such initiatives, it would continue to solidify its position as a thought leader in the energy and automotive sectors, driving innovation while investing in the capacity development of industry professionals.
