Hyderabad Hosts “Bayan-e-Ghalib” Cultural Tribute to Legendary Poet Mirza Ghalib

Hyderabad, January 19, 2025: The timeless legacy of Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib was celebrated through the “Bayan-e-Ghalib” event held on Saturday at Shilpakala Vedika, Madhapur. This cultural tribute brought together ghazals, kathak dance, and compelling narration to honor the literary genius.

The evening featured Dr. Prabha Srivastava, a celebrated ghazal artist, who captivated the audience with soulful renditions of Ghalib’s poetry. Prof. Kumkum Dhar and her troupe performed a mesmerizing Kathak Dance Drama, adding a visual dimension to Ghalib’s verses. The narration was led by Syed Kabir Ahmad, a scholar who delved into Ghalib’s life, alongside Sudhanshu Mani, who also produced the show. Stage and lighting arrangements were executed by Gopal Sinha, enhancing the immersive experience.

The event, organized by Maanaviya Kalyan Trust (MKT), had earlier enjoyed success in Lucknow and is now set to be staged in New Delhi. Dr. Koustubh Dhumal, CEO of MKT, and Sudhanshu Mani, a visionary behind the Vande Bharat Express, shared that the show is a rare blend of Ghazals and Kathak and aims to preserve Urdu poetry for future generations.

Key Announcements During the Event

The occasion also witnessed the launch of Anand Kutumb, a senior living community offering vibrant and supportive environments for older adults. Padmaja Patil, representing Anand Kutumb, shared details of the initiative, emphasizing its focus on senior care.

Additionally, Maanaviya Kalyan Trust announced its plan to offer free IVF facilities for underprivileged families. The first IVF center will open at KIMS, Hubli, in February, with future centers planned at government hospitals. “We are committed to addressing some of society’s most pressing challenges,” said Padmaja Patil.

A Tribute to Ghalib’s Genius

The event celebrated the life and works of Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib, a towering figure in Urdu literature whose poetry and prose continue to transcend time. His profound insights into love, loss, and the human experience were brought to life through a blend of narration, music, and dance. The event reflected on Ghalib’s enduring contributions, particularly his letters, which offer an intimate glimpse into 19th-century Mughal India.

The Bayān-e-Ghālib event was sponsored by Anand Kutumb Senior Community Living, and senior citizens and caregivers enjoyed free entry. Over 1,500 attendees experienced the enchanting tribute, celebrating the immortal legacy of Mirza Ghalib.
