HYDRA Demolitions Lead to Sharp Decline in Hyderabad Property Registrations

Hyderabad: The recent HYDRA demolitions have caused a significant drop in property registrations across key districts in Hyderabad. The impact is evident in the dramatic decrease from July to August, reflecting widespread panic in the real estate market.

In July, around 58,000 property registrations were recorded across Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, and Sangareddy under the GHMC. However, in August, this number fell sharply to 41,200—a decline of nearly 17,000 registrations.

The financial consequences are also severe, with revenue dropping from ₹1,105 crore in July to ₹785 crore in August—a loss of ₹320 crore.

Officials attribute the decline to the HYDRA demolitions, which have created uncertainty and fear among buyers and sellers. The situation is being closely monitored, as the continued impact could have lasting effects on the region’s real estate market and economic health.
