Erik ten Hag has penned a welcome message to Sir Jim Ratcliffe in today’s match programme.

Ratcliffe’s 25 per cent stake purchase in Manchester United was formally announced and given the all-clear this week after a lengthy period of ratification by the Premier League.

He’s already given his first set of interviews as part-owner and the United faithful are taken aback by his commitment to the cause along with how much his vision aligns with that of the fans’.

For example, Ratcliffe has highlighted the vital need to knock rivals Manchester City off their perch and has spoken openly about his projects for the stadium, with the Theatre of Dreams in dire need of some TLC.

Plans include significant renovation to the current model and its surrounding areas, or building a new home for the squad entirely, which could, in turn, see the women’s team play all their matches at Old Trafford rather than Leigh Sports Village.

Ten Hag optimistic for a new era under Ratcliffe

Ten Hag said of the Englishman (via Simon Stone): “I must start by offering a warm welcome to Sir Jim Ratcliffe as the new co-owner of Manchester United. He has high ambitions for this club + I am very excited about what we can all achieve together. There is huge potential for us in the long term.”
