Ayo Adesanya, a well-known actress from Nigeria, has talked candidly about her experiences portraying evil characters in movies and how these roles impact her emotionally.
Adesanya revealed in an interview with Saturday Beats that she was taken aback by how successfully she could portray villainous roles.
“Acting different roles exposes one to various lifestyles,” Adesanya said. “Sometimes, when I watch myself acting wickedly in a movie, I marvel at how well and easily I play those roles. I begin asking myself if I am that wicked. It actually makes me feel bad. I know I am wearing someone’s character, but I still wonder why a character could be so heartless.”

Adesanya’s latest venture is a YouTube series titled ‘Madam Movable.’ The series features Adesanya in a comedic role as a delivery woman, a first for her.
Speaking about the project, she highlighted the challenges she faced, including learning to ride a bike.
“Having acted a lot of characters, I decided to do something different that would help me push boundaries,” Adesanya explained. “There are lots of delivery men, but I have never encountered a delivery woman. Also, I have not really explored my comedy side the way I would love to, so I decided to do so in this series. However, it is not the usual style of comedy, but a ‘calm’ one. Learning to ride a bike was not easy and I had to train for a week before I could get it right. After that experience, I started to give kudos to okada riders.”
In addition to her acting career, Adesanya also offered advice to young women regarding relationships.
“Having a good relationship is not easy now, as even men do not want to get married again,” she said. “However, if a relationship starts from friendship, it will flourish better. There are different reasons one might want to ask for money from a man, but if you are just dating, under no circumstance must you ask for money, because you will lose your respect. If he gives you, that’s fine. But, you should not ask.”
