Perry Groves has given his verdict on Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
TalkSPORT pundit and former Arsenal winger has also shared his thoughts on Marcus Rashford.
The talkSPORT pundit was not pleased with how England international player Rashford and Portugal offensive midfielder Fernandes played for Man United in their defeat against Fulham on Saturday.
The pundit believes Rashford and Fernandes should be let go by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Man United’s new minority owner, as well as a possible new manager.
Groves told talkSPORT: “Manchester United are still rotten. Erik ten Hag is swimming against the tide.
“If you were a new manager going in the two players I’d get rid of straight away are Bruno Fernanes and Marcus Rashford. They’re everything that is wrong with Manchester United.
“They’re lazy. Bruno Fernandes is never a captain in a million years – I said that after they lost 7-0 at Anfield and he was trying to do his socks or his shinpads or whatever.”
There have been talks about Rashford in the media, with the attacker being linked to a move away from Old Trafford after his disciplinary issues. But even those reports have been way off the mark. United fully trust Rashford to deliver and stay at the club.
The club has confidence in the player, who was United’s outstanding performer last season and was a big factor in the somewhat successful season they had last season.
As for Bruno, who is the captain of the club, it is difficult to see the club letting him go as he’s one of the most consistent players in an inconsistent team.
Bruno’s contribution over the last few years has been unmatchable and his importance to the team is often underestimated.
