Rebecca Ferguson has got Dwayne Johnson in her corner in a grudge match with a former co-star.
Ferguson revealed on the Reign with Josh Smith podcast that she had confronted an unnamed fellow actor after they had “screamed” abuse at her on the set of a film.
Her comments have sparked speculation about the identity of the individual. The person’s gender was not confirmed by Ferguson, who is currently starring in Dune: Part Two.
Ferguson has ruled out Hugh Jackman or Tom Cruise, who she starred alongside in The Greatest Showman and Mission Impossible respectively.
Johnson has also appeared to rule himself out of the online chatter by posting his support for Ferguson after the pair worked together on 2014’s Hercules.
“Hate seeing this but love seeing her stand up to bullshit,” The Rock wrote on Twitter, now X. “Rebecca was my guardian angel sent from heaven on our set. I love that woman.”
The former WWE star added: “I’d like to find out who did this.”

— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) February 28, 2024Remembering the incident, Ferguson said: “I remember there was a moment and this human being was being so insecure and angry because this person couldn’t get the scenes out.
“And I think I was so vulnerable and uncomfortable that I got screamed at. But because this person was number one on a call sheet, there was no safety net for me. So no one had my back. And I would cry walking off set.”
Ferguson recalled how the person would say things to her like, “You call yourself an actor?” and “This is what I have to work with?”, in front of the film’s crew. “I stood there just breaking,” she said.
Ferguson said she later confronted the actor, demanding that they be replaced with a tennis ball. When this request was denied, she asked to act to the back of her co-star’s head.
