Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has revealed his thoughts on returning to Selhurst Park for the first time since a heavy 4-0 defeat in May last campaign.
Manchester United are set to face a trip to Selhurst Park to face Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace on Saturday evening in a 17:30 kick-off [UK time].
The last time that the Red Devils faced off against the Eagles was in a humbling 4-0 defeat which increased huge pressure on Ten Hag’s job before the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
Ten Hag will be hoping his side can continue their winning form from the past two games and secure the three points on the road.
Erik ten Hag reluctant to think about the 4-0 Crystal Palace defeat
Speaking to the media ahead of Saturday’s fixture against Crystal Palace, the United boss seemed relaxed about the prospect of returning to Selhurst Park and believes the 4-0 defeat is not important in his planning.
Speaking in his Press conference via The Manchester Evening News, Ten Hag said: “It was a 4-0, totally deserved, but Saturday will be different. I don’t compare (situations).
“Maybe you can also compare it with the FA Cup final. Don’t compare it.
“The circumstances in that moment in the season, from February on, we had to find every time 11 players who can construct a team and now we are in a different place, we have 18 players and we can pick a team.”
