Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa continued his election campaign, on Thursday, pledging to focus more on healthcare and infrastructural development.
Aiyedatiwa, who visited some towns and villages in the Ifedore Local Government Area of the state, said his administration would not deviate from giving the people the best if elected for a second term.
At the palace of the monarch of Igbara Oke, Oba Adefarakammi Agbede, the governor promised that the needs of people of the local government area, in the area of healthcare facilities, road construction and infrastructural development would be met.
Aiyedatiwa said, “I want to assure you that nothing would distract our administration from giving our people the best to improve the quality of their lives.
“Our administration will continue to prioritise healthcare and Infrastructure development if we are elected.”
The traditional ruler, Oba Agbede, in his remarks, highlighted some of the needs of the community, particularly, the rehabilitation of roads within the communities in the local government area.
“This road is not just a path, it is the lifeline of our community, connecting our people to opportunities. Its rehabilitation will greatly enhance economic activities,” the monarch demanded.
He added that the community’s basic health centre lacked resident doctors and health personnel, stressing that the communities yearned for access to healthcare.
Oba Agbede stated, “Your swift intervention in matters affecting our traditional institution shows your respect for us, this is why you have earned our trust. The road network across this local government requires urgent attention to improve access and facilitate development.
“We need access to reliable healthcare. The absence of a resident doctor has left us vulnerable for too long. We are in dire need of water, and flooding has been a recurring problem. We seek your intervention to address these concerns.”
