Christian Eriksen has become a fringe player at Manchester United, but the experienced midfielder has made it clear that his only goal is getting more minutes on the pitch.

Ajax were linked with a move for the Denmark international until the club’s sporting director, Alex Kroes, revealed that they couldn’t make enough space in the squad to bring Eriksen back to Amsterdam.

Eriksen had a bit impact at United in his first season but struggled to perform which was a common struggle among his teammates too.

The Dane has been a bit-part player for United so far this season, but he has stressed that he wants to play regularly.

“I want to play more! I want to play something more,” Eriksen told Tipsbladet.

Eriksen added that he is feeling good physically.

“I just think that the last thing is missing. I think there were a couple of times where I could have done a little better in one way or another. But the body is fine, and there are no flaws.”

Eriksen will get plenty of minutes under his belt during the international break. Granted he avoids any knocks or niggles, which should help him reach match sharpness by the time he returns to Carrington for training.
