Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers has unveiled plans to award N50m to winners of its upcoming FUZE 3.0 talent show.
The Executive Director of Business Development at Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers, Nike Bajomo, disclosed that at the recent FUZE festival media parley held in Lagos.
She added that the event, which celebrated technology, fashion, dance, music and other various sectors in the country, aimed to empower Nigerian youths by providing a platform for artistic expression and innovation, emphasising that the talent show went beyond mere competition.
Bajomo noted that for each category, the winner would be rewarded with N7.5m, while the first runner-up would get N3m and the second position would get N2m.
“Today we are proud to say this is more than a competition. The first reason for FUZE is empowerment; we aim to support talents across the world to showcase their artistic skills. In Nigeria, there are limited job opportunities, and we need a body behind these talents to support their dreams, helping our youth move off the streets,” she stated.
Also, the Head of Business Development at Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers, Kenneth Omeogu, revealed that this year’s competition had attracted a larger number of participants, doubling the entries from Lagos.
“This year we have doubled the number of participants coming out of Lagos. We also improved our platform regarding registration and entries,” he added.
One of the judges in the dance industry, Nonso Asobe, stated that the show’s dual purpose of showcasing talent and fostering personal development.
A fashion judge on the panel, Olufunke Adepoju, pointed out that the show’s impact extended beyond winning.
She remarked, “The impact of this show is not just about winning but also about putting people out there, as many are watching and this exposure will help them grow their craft.”
She underscored the importance of visibility for participants in the creative industry.
Also, a judge for the music industry, Korede Bello, reinforced the significance of the platform, saying, “This is a huge platform from Stanbic IBTC, and we hope to see rising stars emerge.”
In his remarks, the Chief Executive, Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers, Olumide Oyetan, highlighted the significant impact the talent show has had in previous seasons.
“The FUZE talent show has been more than a competition; it is a catalyst for aspiration, giving rise to new stars who now shine across various fields, including science, technology, fashion, and dance.”
He added that with a grand prize of N50m, past seasons had produced 24 winners and garnered global attention, with hopes of surpassing those numbers this year.
