Veteran comedian Ali Baba criticises insecure men, specifically those who feel threatened by women earning more than them.
In a fiery post shared on his Instagram, the comedian expressed frustration with men who allow their self-worth to be defined by financial status, labelling such behaviour as insecurity.
His statement was in response to an interaction between two X users who recounted how women fixed their marriages by simply quitting high-paying jobs for lesser ones.
In his response, Alibaba mocked men who would ask their higher-earning partners to resign from their jobs out of jealousy or ego. He sarcastically referred to these men as “lazy bumcums” and questioned the logic behind their demands.
The comment has since gone viral, sparking debates online about gender roles, relationships, and how finances can affect self-esteem, particularly for men.
“All these lies you people are sharing will keeeeee you people soon.
Who are these women who fall for such lies.
If you earn more than your man, let him quit his own job. Nonsense!!!
Who are these lazy bumcums peddling these stupid narratives?
You are earning N1.5m a month… and your madam is earning 10m monthly. And with that kind of job comes different benefits… you wil tell her to resign.
That means your self-confidence is financially driven and anchored.
Insecurities my foot.
So, Stedman will tell Oprah Winfrey to resign…
Who is bringing up these men with self esteem that is defined by financial status?
No wonder, once a woman looks rich and exudes prosperity vibes… these sort of mean become weaklings.
Instead of being challenged and driven to upgrade your financial status.
Shiooooor,” he wrote.
