IG orders PR, communication training for 10,000 police recruits

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has directed immediate public relations, human relations, and communication training for 10,000 recruits currently undergoing training across the 17 training institutions of the Nigeria Police Force.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the directive in a statement on Saturday via X, stressing that the training is part of the IGP’s commitment to fostering a professional and service-orientated police force.

According to him, the aim is to ensure that the new recruits imbibe the culture and principles of effective public relations, human interaction, and communication.

The IGP believes that these skills are crucial for improving professional conduct and enhancing service delivery within the Force.

The statement said, “The IGP has ordered for immediate public relations, human relations, and communication training for the 10,000 recruits on training across the 17 training institutions of the Force.

“The IGP gave the directive to the Force PR Department to design a robust course outline in this regard and ensure the new intakes imbibe the culture and principles of PR, Human relations and Communication with a view to improving their professional skills towards quality service delivery.”
