An X (formerly Twitter) user, @Memorabilia1899, has released the images of Barcelona’s home jersey for the 2024-25 season. Interestingly enough, the team has decided to go all retro given that they will be celebrating their 125th anniversary.

Images of Barcelona’s rumoured home kit for the next season have been doing rounds on the web for quite a while and this kit will closely resemble the ones worn during the 1998-99 Centenari campaign and the 1999-00 season.

It maintains a striking resemblance to the inaugural kit design from 1899, featuring a distinctive split of half blue and half cochineal.

Noteworthy differentiations from the version 25 years ago include a round neckline and a unique sleeve configuration – one in blue and the other in scarlet, a departure from the navy blue sleeves seen in both the 1998-99 and 1999-00 seasons.

What are the other differences?

In 1999, Barcelona had the club crest right on the chest and for the new season, they are keeping it that way. They also got approval from the club to switch from Nike to Spotify for their logo in the centre.

They will also have Ambilight TV on the left sleeve in gold letters and On the back, there will be the UNHCR/UN Refugee Agency logo.

The shirt will have a nod to the club’s 125 years of history, celebrating its completion on November 29, 2024, when the team is expected to return to historic Camp Nou at 66% capacity.

Meanwhile, it is to be noted that back in the 2008-09 season, during Barça’s historic first treble, they used the Centenari design, but it didn’t have the navy blue collar or the brighter shades of blue seen in the upcoming campaign.
