Earlier in the week, the newspaper El Mundo revealed that Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nuñes was arrested last month after stealing a phone from a nightclub in Madrid. But according to the English tabloid The Mirrorthis story is false.

The Portugal international just pushed the phone out of a man’s hands, after asking him not to film him and to take photos. While it had been claimed that Nunes was handcuffed and taken to the police station, the incident was exaggerated. The former Sporting and Wolverhampton player has not been arrested and will not be prosecuted.
