IndyCar Driver Josef Newgarden Visits Empire State Building With Wife Ashley After Indy 500 Win

Josef Newgarden wears the winning wreath around his body while visiting the Empire State Building on Tuesday (May 28) in New York City.

The 33-year-old Team Penske IndyCar driver was joined by his wife Ashley while continuing the celebrations after he picked up the win at the 2024 Indianapolis 500!

Just a couple days earlier, Josef won the coveted Indy 500 race for the second year in a row. It’s the first time in over 20 years that one driver has won the race back-to-back. The last driver to do so was Hélio Castroneves in 2001 and 2002, and he also won it in 2009 and 2021.

After Josef‘s win the other day, Ashley took to Instagram to celebrate.

“The definition of peaks and valleys of life. Some days you’re left the lowest you’ve ever been. But yesterday was absolutely a peak. Back to back Indy 500 champ babyyyy 🏆 🏆,” she captioned a post.

There are still several more races left in this year’s IndyCar Series, with the next one, the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix, taking place June 2nd on the streets of Downtown Detroit, Michigan.
