The Independent National Electoral Commission has approved the promotion of 1,731 staff members who excelled in the 2024 promotion examinations.
The commission’s Director, Voter Education and Publicity, Adenike Tadese, disclosed this in a bulletin on Tuesday.
Among those promoted are 59 deputy directors elevated to the rank of directors, 168 assistant directors promoted to deputy directors, and 167 chiefs advanced to assistant directors.
Additionally, 1,337 officers across various grades were recognised for their performance and promoted accordingly.
INEC described the promotions as part of its ongoing efforts to motivate its workforce, enhance productivity, and maintain a professional environment.
The statement read, “The Independent National Electoral Commission has approved the promotion of 1,731 members of staff who excelled in the 2024 promotion examinations.
“This achievement marks another milestone that underscores the commission’s unwavering commitment to enhancing staff welfare and supporting career progression.
“A detailed breakdown of the promotions reveals that: 59 Deputy Directors (Grade Level 16) have been elevated to the rank of Director (Grade Level 17); 168 Assistant Directors (Grade Level 15) were promoted to the rank of Deputy Director (Grade Level 16); 167 Chiefs (Grade Level 14) advanced to the position of Assistant Director (Grade Level 15); and 1,337 officers between Grade Levels 7 and 13 were found deserving and promoted accordingly.”
