It’s an exciting time for Man United and their fans given that they are at the start of a new journey with Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS group.
After years of pain and arguably mis-management under the Glazer family, Sir Jim’s partial takeover of the club – which allows full control of the football side of the business – promises much.
The long-suffering Red Devils fan base will be expecting INEOS to deliver, however.
The worst thing that Sir Jim, Sir Dave Brailsford and others can do now is to backtrack on the promises made before they took their place at Old Trafford.

Before dipping their toes into the football arena INEOS dominated cycling, and though it’s a completely different sport, the high achieving mindset will be similar.
It’s perhaps with that in mind that Sir Jim and Sir Dave appear to be willing to try something a little different at United.

According to the Daily Mail (h/t Sky Sports), they are preparing to bring Kenyan marathon runners and New Zealand rugby stars to the club in order to talk to the players and to hopefully get some ‘marginal gains’ from such forums.
Rather than dismissing such methods out of hand, United’s fans would do well to get right behind them.
