Dani Olmo’s recovery is progressing well, and if a report from MARCA is to be believed, he is expected to be fit for Barcelona’s match against Sevilla after the upcoming international break.

This is positive news for the team, as Olmo was forced off the pitch during their game against Girona due to muscle discomfort in September. He left the field just after the hour mark, raising concerns about his fitness.

While initial assessments suggested the injury wasn’t serious and he would be sidelined for only a short period, the situation took a turn the following day when more thorough medical tests were conducted by the team.

The scans revealed that the injury to his right thigh, specifically the femoral biceps, was worse than initially thought. Barcelona released a statement confirming that Olmo would be out of action for around four to five weeks, much longer than originally anticipated.

There is good news

Since then, the outlet suggests that Olmo has been working on a personalised recovery programme. In fact, he has made significant progress and even started individual training sessions on the field.

The feedback from these sessions has been encouraging, suggesting that his recovery is on track. Furthermore, the timing of the international break has worked in Olmo’s favour, giving him extra time to fully recover without missing any more key matches.

His return to full training with the squad is expected soon, and if his recovery continues as planned, he should be available for selection when Barcelona face Sevilla on 20 October after the break.

This development will be a boost for Barcelona, as having Olmo back in the squad will strengthen their options in midfield, especially during a busy period of the season.

His recovery will be closely monitored to ensure there are no setbacks before his return to competitive action.
