Inside the Vanity Fair Oscars party: Wild star mashups with LeBron James, Russell Wilson and more

There were so many stars on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscars party Sunday night that there was a line for them to get in front of the cameras.

While waiting, one boomer guest got a text from someone already inside.

“It’s a real vibe,” she said, reading the message off her phone to her husband next to her. “What’s that mean?” she asked.

“I think it’s good? It’s good,” he translated. “Like, it’s a good vibe!”

Meanwhile, legendary film director Steven Spielberg was escorted in by his publicist. “No pictures,” he told her, meaning he’d bypass the logjam and head straight into the venue to enjoy the star-studded bash.

And inside, the party was more than a “real vibe.”

Where else but the Vanity Fair Oscars party could a guest spot “Star Wars” guru J.J. Abrams standing next to cult movie auteur John Waters, while Beck bonded with Judd Apatow over comedy and “Schitt’s Creek” star Catherine O’Hara stood at the bar beside LeBron James.

On a night where one top agent surveyed the party and wondered aloud whether there were any “real” movie stars left in Hollywood – as fragmentation and uncertainty dog showbiz – the Vanity Fair guest who exerted the most wattage in the room was James.

Literally larger than life as he towered above the bash, the NBA legend lit up the place in a pair of oversized shades, white dinner jacket with a gold brooch on the chest pocket and Tom Cruise-levels of charismatic energy.

The Lakers star was sipping champagne and holding court with a squad that included Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, NBA teammate Anthony Davis and sports agent Rich Paul.

Paul was at the party without his significant other (and oft-rumored wife), Adele, as the former Oscar winner has said she’s resting from an illness. The singer postponed her Las Vegas residency until later this month amid her ongoing recovery.

Speaking of Vegas residencies, Kylie Minogue was at the party between shows at the Venetian’s Voltaire — and told Page Six that her Sin City audience never sits down, even though the place is stocked with comfy, stuffed seats.

Other pop cultural pairings at the Vanity Fair party, hosted by editor Radhika Jones, were less taxing to process as the proceedings went well past midnight.

Kim Kardashian was seen animatedly talking to Lindsay Lohan before the reality star later left with rumored love interest Odell Beckham Jr.

HBO star Larry David schmoozed with the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery David Zaslav.

Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth hung with close pal Matt Damon at the bash that featured a new 10,000-square-foot layout this year with a sexy dark red theme to mark the glam event’s 30th anniversary.

“Saltburn” star Barry Keoghan led singer girlfriend Sabrina Carpenter by the hand through the party after they made their red carpet debut earlier Sunday night.

Cardi B was trailed by a stylist who held the train of her dress for her as Usher, Sydney Sweeney, Jeff Bezos, Jodie Foster and Nathan Fielder were also in a swirl of stars and VIPs.

Jon Hamm was seen dancing with his new wife, Anna Osceola, and hanging with John Mulaney.

Mulaney’s girlfriend, Olivia Munn, decided to go barefoot at the bash, including in an outdoor area, where food was served up by In-N-Out Burger and Beverly Hills eatery Funke.

At the end of the night, valets called out the names of stars to come get their cars, and a stand was set up with coffee and donuts where waiting guests included Jessica Alba, Billie Eilish, Adrien Brody and Saweetie.

“Russell! Russell!” an attendant called through a loudspeaker as a two-tone Mercedes-Maybach with Colorado plates pulled up.

Recently released Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson and his wife, Ciara, then headed to the vehicle. Wilson is moving to the Steelers, so maybe they were driving from Denver to Pittsburgh?

Perhaps proving that the night is really more about the parties than the movies, one high-profile guest was overheard asking a pal, “Who won best picture?”
