Simone Inzaghi was summoned by the Italian police as part of the investigation which concerns the ultras of Inter and AC Milan and their links with the mafia. According to the press agency Ansadocuments relating to the investigation cite managers and players. Inzaghi is suspected of having made an agreement with Marco Ferdico, one of the main leaders of the Interist ultras, in order to obtain 200 tickets for the 2023 Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter, in Istanbul (Turkey). The Italian coach had promised to speak with his management.

In addition to the coach of Nerrazzuriit is not excluded that Javier Zanetti, vice-president of Inter, and Milan Skriniar, Inter player between 2017 and 2023, will also be questioned. In 2023, several ultras including Ferdico had demanded to meet management to discuss the club’s sporting difficulties and had put pressure so that the Slovak defender did not leave the club. Since the start of this investigation, 19 people have been arrested.
