Ghana's Interior Ministry has been ranked as the top-performing institution in the country, according to the latest report by the Africa Centre for Entrepreneurship and Youth Empowerment (ACEYE).

The report, titled "Index of Government Institutions' Performance Towards Economic Prosperity" (IGIPTEP), assessed the performance of government institutions in Ghana using indicators such as service delivery quality, transparency, financial management, and public engagement.

The Ministry of Interior scored an impressive 80.8% overall, reflecting its strong role in ensuring national security and public safety. It also scored 80% in public engagement.

However, the report highlighted some weaknesses, including limited transparency in fund allocation and contract mismanagement.

The Ministry of Interior took the lead ahead of 50 state institutions, including the Bank of Ghana, Parliament, and the Court of Appeal according to the report.

The full report was launched on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Alisa Hotel in Accra, with guest speakers such as the Minister for Public Sector Reforms, Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba, Joyce Lee from Atlas Network, Fred McMahon, Resident Fellow, Dr. Michael A. Walker Chair in Economic Freedom and Franklin Cudjoe of Imani Africa in attendance.
