WWE is gearing up for Bad Blood after the excitement of Bash in Berlin, and the momentum continued during the September 9 episode of WWE RAW in Calgary. While CM Punk was absent, his feud with Drew McIntyre took center stage during McIntyre’s segment, further building anticipation for their upcoming showdown.
Fans had plenty to say about Drew McIntyre’s promo, where he carried forward his rivalry with Punk, leading to the booking of a Hell in a Cell match between the two at Bad Blood on October 5.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select noted that senior writer Alexandra Williams was responsible for scripting the segment involving McIntyre, Wade Barrett, and Adam Pearce. Williams had previously been seen backstage alongside Stephanie McMahon during the WWE Draft episode earlier this year.
In the segment, McIntyre addressed the WWE Universe, encouraging chants for CM Punk and recalling their recent encounters. He boasted about pinning Punk at SummerSlam but expressed his frustration over Punk costing him the World Heavyweight Championship multiple times. McIntyre then shifted to discussing his future goals, including his title aspirations and an upcoming movie. He also confronted Wade Barrett at ringside, issuing a warning not to interfere in his affairs again.
RAW General Manager Adam Pearce then made an appearance, revealing that CM Punk wasn’t done with McIntyre and announced their Hell in a Cell rematch at Bad Blood, much to McIntyre’s displeasure.
With the October 5 event in Atlanta approaching, fans are eager to see how this intense rivalry will unfold. Keep checking back with us here at Ringside News for more.
