ST Team, an AI-powered investment platform, has launched a digital skills initiative aimed at providing free technology training to underprivileged youths, the company announced during a press conference on Friday.
The initiative, known as the ST Tech Academy, will offer training in software engineering, full-stack development, web design, and other tech-related fields.
The programme is designed exclusively for the children of ST team members, ensuring access to quality digital education regardless of financial background.
“Our goal is to equip young people with the skills needed to thrive in the digital economy. We recognise that access to tech education is often limited by cost, and we want to bridge that gap,” said Regional Head of Smart Treasures in Lagos, Trust Otorudo.
The academy, which will be led by ST Team VIP member Ejiro Awenayeri, will run in three phases: beginners (two months), intermediate (three months), and advanced (six months), totalling an 11-month training period. The programme will initially be conducted virtually before expanding to physical classes.
Ejiro praised the initiative, noting that the high cost of tech training often excludes many young people from acquiring essential digital skills.
“This programme is a game-changer. It provides a rare opportunity for youths to learn software development and coding at no cost,” he said.
The company encouraged members to enrol their children and take advantage of the programme, emphasising its commitment to fostering digital inclusion and preparing young Nigerians for careers in technology.
