Decentralized GPU technology is pioneering a new evolutionary trait with the io.net and NovaNet alliance.

Key Notes

io.net and NovaNet are now partners working to enhance GPU security. The partnership will allow io.net to validate the GPUs within its global network.NovaNet will provide the core zkVM validation technology.

In a strategic move, io.net and NovaNet have partnered to enhance decentralized GPU compute security. They intend to achieve this feat using zero-knowledge GPU Identification (zkGPU-ID). Notably, the implementation of this solution is geared towards increasing its ability to continuously validate and test the network of GPUs at a global scale.

NovaNet’s ZKPs and zkEVM to Serve io.net

NovaNet and io.net’s collaborative effort will boost the security and reliability of decentralized computing with cryptographic guarantees. The alliance merges the knowledge and expertise of both parties to provide the intended solution. NovaNet will use its zkVM technology to ensure that GPUs on io.net either meet or exceed claimed performance standards, assuring reliability and transparency.

NovaNet’s advanced ZKPs will ensure that the computational resources provided by io.net suppliers are fully validated and secure and meet stated performance levels. Tausif Ahmed, io.net VP of Business Development, acknowledged that “building a permissionless and enterprise-ready decentralized compute network requires optimizing coordination and verification across a massive group of distributed GPU suppliers”.

He then discussed how NovaNet’s zkGPU-ID can increase io.net’s ability to continuously validate and test the global GPU network. The decision to partner with NovaNet and layer their solution on top of io.net’s internal verification mechanisms is for customers. They can confirm that the GPUs they rent from the DePIN platform are reliable, trusted, and exactly what they ordered.

Similarly, NovaNet’s Technical co-founder Wyatt Benno said ZKPs must run on various devices before it achieves local verifiability. NovaNet’s zkVM is designed to support a safe and secure way to identify GPUs using software. The result is cryptographic proof that anyone can easily and cheaply verify.

The Push for Functional Partnership Deals

It is worth noting that this deal with NovaNet is one of io.net’s recent strategic partnerships. More recent is the alliance with YOM, a decentralized cloud gaming network that aims to make high-quality gaming accessible to players worldwide. YOM is focused on boosting its pixel streaming capabilities with io.net’s vast network of globally distributed GPUs.

In the long run, the aim is to allow for smooth, low-latency delivery of AAA games to players everywhere. This can help in cutting costs compared to traditional server setups. Last August, the DePIN platform announced a collaboration with Flock.io to develop the world’s first Proof of AI (PoAI) consensus mechanism. This aims to verify the integrity of nodes in decentralized computing networks, representing a significant advancement in AI technology.

The PoAI ties node validation to the successful completion of AI tasks. Consequently, it makes it harder for dishonest participants to overstate their capabilities.

Still, in August, the network collaborated with NetMind.AI to enhance its AI and Machine Learning (ML) capabilities. The duo plans to integrate their resources to boost computational capabilities, particularly during periods of high demand.
