Christopher Nkunku's stop-start Chelsea career shows no sign of ending ahead of the club's London derby with Fulham this weekend.

The Frenchman has been plagued by injuries since his summer switch from RB Leipzig, managing just three Premier League appearances.

Chelsea splashed out £52million on Nkunku, but a knee injury sustained in a pre-season friendly against Borussia Dortmund in August meant fans had to wait months for his competitive debut.

Nkunku came off the bench on his debut in English football to score for the Blues in the 2-1 defeat at Wolves on Christmas Eve.

However, just six days later, the 25-year-old suffered a hip injury in the 3-2 win away to Luton and has been sidelined since.

Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed Nkunku will not be available to play Fulham on Saturday.

The Argentine revealed that it had been 10 days since the former Paris Saint-Germain starlet was able to join in their training sessions.

"We are still worrying about the situation of Nkunku," Pochettino admitted on Friday.

"Now I think we are 10 days he cannot train. We are assessing. A little bit worried as we want him back as soon as possible.

"I remember my first conference after he suffered a small issue. Now I think it's nearly 10 days he has not trained – in between eight and 10.

"After six months, we were waiting for him. He was so close to again feel(ing) comfortable. I am of course disappointed with that.

"We want him as soon as possible to be involved again."
