Erling Haaland is still waiting to make his first appearance in 2024 as Manchester City return to action against Newcastle this weekend.

The Norwegian has now missed a month of action with a foot injury but returned to training ahead of City's 5-0 FA Cup win over Huddersfield.

Haaland has not played since sustaining a stress issue in his foot during the 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa at the start of December.

The upcoming trip to Newcastle will be followed by a two-week winter break for City, which may see Haaland risked.

Is Haaland fit to play this weekend?

Haaland has missed out on the City squad to face Newcastle.

On his team news ahead of the trip to St James' Park, Pep Guardiola said: "Jack [Grealish] has been sick. Hopefully today he's back.

"Erling [Haaland is out and John [Stones] is out.

"I think that's everything."

This Premier League clash will take place on Saturday, January 13. 

Kick-off at St. James’ Park is scheduled for 5:30pm.
