Can PSG still be eliminated from the Champions League? Everything will be decided on the last day against Stuttgart, in a suspenseful scenario.

Can Paris Saint-Germain, which currently occupies 23rd place in the Champions League, already consider itself safe before the last day of the regular phase? The suspense remains intact, while the competition between European clubs is in full swing. With a perilous trip to Stuttgart, the Parisians are playing big.

A situation still uncertain

Currently 22nd with 10 points, PSG is in an uncomfortable position. If their goal difference (+1) places them above Stuttgart (10 points, -1), Manchester City and Dinamo Zagreb, in ambush with 8 points each, could overtake them in the event of victory in their last matches.

The match against Stuttgart, which occupies 24th place, therefore takes on the appearance of a final for the Parisians. A defeat at the Mercedes-Benz Arena combined with successes for Manchester City (against Bruges) and Dinamo Zagreb (against AC Milan) would relegate Paris out of the Top 24, synonymous with elimination.

An imperative victory for PSG?

PSG will have to avoid any missteps to secure their place. With a simple draw against Stuttgart, Paris would reach 11 points, which would be enough to guarantee its qualification, even in the event of a victory for its direct competitors. On the other hand, a defeat would leave the Parisians on 10 points, at the mercy of the results of Manchester City and Dinamo Zagreb.

The latter have major challenges: Manchester City will have to beat Bruges at home, while Zagreb will try to achieve an exploit against AC Milan at San Siro. These two matches will be played on Wednesday at 9 p.m., at the same time as PSG-Stuttgart, which promises an evening rich in emotions.

A destiny in their hands

PSG has its future in the Champions League in its hands. Although Paris only needs one point to secure its place, recent results show a worrying irregularity. A defeat could therefore be costly for Luis Enrique's men. But if their competitors were to stumble, Paris could ultimately qualify despite everything.

The verdict will fall next Wednesday. For PSG, the watchword is clear: do not calculate and aim for victory against Stuttgart, at the risk of experiencing enormous disillusionment.
