Disney’s new animated musical movie Moana 2 is now in theaters! The film was originally being developed as a Disney+ series, but the studio decided to turn it into a feature film with a theatrical release instead. Fans who are checking out the movie will likely want to know if they should stick around after the credits for an additional scene. Many movies these days, especially ones that are part of a franchise, will include extra footage at the end to tease future installments or to give audiences some bonus content. So, do you need to stick around after Moana 2? Keep reading to find out if you need to wait for a post-credits scene… We can confirm that YES, there is a mid-credits scene that you should totally stick around to watch as it sets up a possible third movie. There’s nothing at the very end of the credits roll, but there’s something you might want to check out. SPOILERS!!! We see Matangi (the bat lady that actually ends up helping Moana) going back to villainous Nalo, who is now in human-like form and not a giant thunderous storm. Voiced by Awhimai Fraser, she asks Nalo to be freed – but Nalo refuses and says that they’re just getting started. Mid-monologue, they’re interrupted by Tamatoa the hilarious crab bad guy from the first film. Voiced by Jemaine Clement, the reappearance of the crab fiend introduces a set up for the next film as Tamatoa tries to conspire to work with Nalo since they share a common enemy in Moana. At the very end of the credits roll, Disney teases the next animated film that will be released by the studio. An image of a snake is shown, seemingly as a teaser for Zootopia 2, which is hitting theaters in 2025. Check out photos of the cast attending the London premiere this past weekend!
