Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has made a swift return to training, just in time for Fenerbahçe’s heated Istanbul derby against Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray at the Ulker Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Stadium on Saturday.

The player shared a photo of him in training at the club’s Can Bartu Training Facilities on Tuesday.

The former Queens Park Rangers fullback had been sidelined for three games after picking up a knock against Rizespor on August 25, which also ruled him out of international duty for Nigeria’s matches against the Benin Republic and Rwanda.

Osayi-Samuel was initially called up for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers but had to withdraw due to injury, with Benjamin Taminu taking his place in the squad.

His return is just in time for the explosive clash against the Yellow-Reds as he prepares to face his countryman Osimhen, who just joined Galatasaray on loan.

Osimhen had an impactful debut for Gala, assisting in their 5-0 win over Caykur Rizespor. He will be determined to make a strong comeback in the derby against Fenerbahçe as he looks for his first goal at the club.

Osayi-Samuel will also be determined to halt his fellow Nigerian from influencing the game, while also solidifying his return to the squad.
