Last week, the call from Dani Alves, former player of Barcelona and Seville, for Rape, was successfully announced.

This appeal comes after his initial conviction in February 2024, after being arrested and charged 13 months ago following an alleged incident that occurred in a nightclub in the Catalan capital.

Alves praised the verdict, a unanimous acquittal, but the accuser was not delighted. The prosecution appealed to the decision rendered last week, as reported by REVO.

Dani Alves is not from business

According to this information, the prosecution formalized the announcement of an appeal before the civil and criminal chamber of the Superior court of Catalonia (TSJC), which will be presented to the prosecution of the Supreme Court. The appeal will be based on the fact that the condemnation of the TSJC, which revoked the sentence of 4.5 years in prison pronounced against Alves, violates the constitutional precepts and the principles of the penal code.

Alves has regularly denied all the charges against him in the past two years and will continue to do so throughout the appeal procedure. He was recently prosecuted by his former club, the Pumas, for his conviction for non-compliance with the code of conduct provided for in his contract. Now that it has been acquitted, the evolution of the situation remains to be determined.

The appeal procedure may be long, which means that Alves may not be able to think fully after his conviction for a while. The decision of the prosecution of the Supreme Court will be expected when the time comes, but for the moment, we expect the situation to remain calm.
