After triumphing in the first round of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal battle against PSG earlier this week, Barcelona are preparing for round two.

This time, the Blaugrana will face Luis Enrique’s men at home in Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on Tuesday night, hoping to make it through to the semi-finals of Europe’s premier competition.

Even though Barcelona hold an advantage thanks to their 3-2 win from earlier this week, they are aware that the job is not done yet and are staying grounded and focused.

Barcelona locker room ‘ready for the war’

SPORT’s Toni Juanmarti reports that the Barcelona squad now have all five senses focused on Tuesday’s match against PSG.

Retaining the La Liga title, despite being eight points behind Real Madrid, is not fully realistic and the group has been aware of this for weeks.

As such, the Champions League is seen as the big dream. Not to win it, which is more of a pipedream, but to go as far as possible.

Barcelona know that it will be anything but easy on Tuesday night, but they are prepared and psyched up mentally for the big game.

“It will be a war, but we are ready,” say sources from the Catalan side.

At Barça, they are clear that the tie with PSG is far from being done and dusted, so there is still a lot of suffering to be done.

However, those in the locker room stress that their ability to suffer now is much greater than it was months ago, when the squad was fragile and at times played without believing in their chances.

More united than ever

As per the report, the excitement within Barcelona is at an all-time high this season. The pressure, on the other hand, has decreased dramatically in the last few weeks.

Right now, Barça are experiencing their best moment of the season. The atmosphere in training is more united than ever, the group is ‘plugged in’ and there is the usual stress of when there are big prizes at stake.

In addition, the team has recovered its strength and there is reason to believe that both the eleven who start and those who could come on in the second half are in good shape. The dressing room is a volcano of positive energy.
