Liverpool’s move to hire Feyenoord’s Arne Slot to be their next manager is a done deal, according to Fabrizio Romano, though he’s not clear yet on when the Reds will confirm this via an official announcement.

Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside for his Daily Briefing column, Romano made it clear that there’s no need for Liverpool fans to be worried, as Slot’s appointment is still a done deal, with everything agreed.

Liverpool face a challenging period coming up as it won’t be easy for any manager to replace the legendary Jurgen Klopp, but Slot has done impressive work at Feyenoord, and it seems he is now their choice.

Romano is not yet sure when this will be officially confirmed, but it seems it’s surely only a matter of time before the clubs decide when they’ll go public on this.

Slot to Liverpool is a done deal, says Romano

“Some Liverpool fans have been eager to know when we’ll get an official announcement on Arne Slot becoming the new manager, but I have no information on this at the moment – it’s up to the clubs to decide the timing of announcements like this,” Romano said.

“Still, rest assured that there’s no news on this – it’s a done deal. It’s all set, as previously reported, with the clubs agreeing on compensation, while the Dutch manager has also agreed his contract with Liverpool.”

LFC writer Neil Jones also recently discussed Slot’s appointment in his Daily Briefing column, telling CaughtOffside: “It is just a matter of time now before Arne Slot is confirmed as Liverpool’s next manager, with everything agreed between both the clubs and the man himself.

“For me, it is a very interesting appointment, and one which speaks both of the lack of truly outstanding candidates available at this stage, as well as Liverpool’s willingness to take a risk.”
