The Portuguese Paulo Fonseca has just definitively resolved the question of his future.

He was not expected to make a decision for a week, but it finally appears that Paulo Fonseca has made his choice regarding the next course of his career. After careful consideration, he would have resolved to accept AC Milan’s approach.

According to information disclosed by Sky Sport Italia, Fonseca, former coach of AS Roma, has therefore given his approval to return to Italy. The deal would be imminent. For this position, he would have beaten Roberto De Zerbi, who was also seeking this prestigious responsibility.

Paulo Fonseca rejected OM

The news must sadden LOSC supporters, but also those of OM. Indeed, the Marseille club had sought to attract Paulo Fonseca as it had already done last year. In vain. The efforts made by Pablo Longoria and Mehdi Benatia in this matter have led to nothing.

Fonseca should still meet Olympian officials this Wednesday. But, it was out of pure politeness and to let them know that he was declining the project. We can imagine that the absence of a European cup in the Marseille program for the coming season could have influenced his personal decision.
