Welcomed like a rock star in Marseille on Monday evening, Adrien Rabiot explained his choice to join OM.

It’s done! Adrien Rabiot set foot in Marseille this Monday at around 8:30 p.m. After landing at Marignane airport, the former Parisian received an incredible welcome from hundreds of Marseille supporters who came to celebrate his arrival with chants (sometimes anti-Parisian) and smoke bombs. Wearing an OM scarf around his neck, Adrien Rabiot gave his first impressions to the media on site after signing autographs and taking a few photos with his new supporters.

“It’s incredible, it’s huge, Rabiot said in comments reported by BFM. I didn’t expect this, seeing all the people who are there and happy, it warms my heart. I know that my family is happy too, it already makes me want to play and win. I was told that 500 people made the trip, I didn’t expect so much good humor, so much warmth.

Rabiot: “It seemed improbable”

The French international then explained his (surprising) choice to join OM, he who played 227 matches with PSG. It happened like this, at first it seemed improbable and finally after talking a lot with Medhi (Benatia), he presented the project to me, I joined inhe confided.

I also spoke with the coach, it really spoke to me on a sporting level. Plus the atmosphere, the fervour, the stadium, the public who live football… The objective is to win of course, to get back into the Champions League.

Now safely arrived in the Phocaean city, Adrien Rabiot should undergo his medical examination on Tuesday and sign his two-year contract immediately afterwards. It remains to be seen whether he will be fit for the next match of the Marseillais in Lyon, Sunday. He has already announced that he will be in the group. I don’t know if I could play the Olympico, if I would be in condition, but I will be with the group in any case, he assured. I can’t wait to train and get back to the Vélodrome.”
